


Well, here's a thought.

I was thinking it might be a cool project if we could add or replace
the existing VDP with a memory mapped VDP of the same type or some 
other type. Immediately the problems that come to mind are having 
to rewrite all of the EOS and OS-7 routines that access video if 
you replace the VDP, and even still programs that don't use the OS 
routines wouldn't work. Since the VDP DOES have a composite video 
input, it might be possible to use the two together (for twice as 
many sprites, etc.) The purpose of all this of course would be fast-
er access to display memory, which is a limitation, at least for
games. The disadvantage of this would be having to give of 16k of
the system's available memory.  

Maybe a second sound chip could be added as well, and these two 
devices could be put on a game card?

Just some crazy ideas. :)
